Default How do I add Google Adsense to my blog????

Can any of you tell me how to do this?

I have a Adsense account but its changed a lot since the last time I used it. It seems to have many different options just in the beginning to sign up and I really have no idea which to choose.

I just want to have some ads on my blog to "see" what type of money I can earn....

If any of you can help give me some info on how to set it up I'd be SO grateful!! Right now my blog is on Blogger, but I'm swtiching it to WordPress because I've read its better overall?

Thanks so much,
Pamela

Hi Pamela,

I can assist you in adding telling you how to add the code to the sidebar of your wordpress blog because I've recently done that myself.

For blogger i'm no so sure, but i'll look into it.

Also, is the wordpress blog hosted on your website, or is it from wordpress directly?

In any case you need to access your blog's "theme" folder. Enter the "theme" that you are currently using and within that theme's folder there will be a file that says "sidebar.php" . In that file you can enter your ad sense code. The trick is to add the code exactly where you want it to appear amongst the existing sidebar items.

A grasp of basic html is needed to get it just right.

hope this help

No, the Wordpress blog will just be wordpress directly.

Where do I get this "adsense code"?

You get the adsense code from your adsense account.

When you log in there will be a tab in the top left corner that says "Adsense set up". Under "adsense set up" there will be a list of ad options. Click the one that says "adsense for content".

From there you will be able to choose the type of ad text box and the color of the ad box and text. Once that is all decided adsense will generate the html code for your desired ad type which you can then add to your blog.
