Hey Karma,
Press releases are a great way to get the word out about your business. The key is to know how to write one, which takes practice.

Do some research and get started. I am sure that over time, you will start to see results. Persistence and consistence in any marketing method is power. don't stop just because you don't see immediate results. It just means that you have some skills to work on. One of the great things about having your own business, unlike a job that pays you not to make mistakes, owning a business, it is a requirement to make mistakes and fail in order to achieve success.

The difference between successful people and unsuccessful people is that successful people have failed more.

Go on and get those press releases completed....

Don't guess Karma. Keep working on yourself and on your business. I know sometimes it is frustrating and you feel like stopping.

When you feel the urge to give up, just take a break. Go do something fun, then sometime during the course of the day, think about what it is you are doing wrong with you marketing. Study, learn, and grow.

If you give up, you will never achieve success. You have to be patient. It takes time to develop skills. The things you are learning are not easy to come by. Think of having a business this way, if it were easy, most people would be doing it. Currently most people want a business of their own, but most are also not willing to do the work to have a business. Why? Because it is hard.

You and I are different. Although we struggle and it is a lot of hard work, we still persist. In time, our patience and willingness to make the sacrifices and grow will be rewarded.

If you have ever listened to most successful people's stories, many of them were just like you and I, then one day it happened.

Again, don't guess. Know that you will achieve and it will happen.

Talk about WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT! WOW! These are words to LIVE by! Kudos to you work2bfree.

Now back to the topic... Press Releases. One of my sponsors produced a Press Release years ago, back in early 2006 about when he first started out in this network and marketing madness.

To this day it is still up and available for the world to see and the crazy thing is.. he's still producing traffic from it! Although the website mentioned in his Page Ranking is long gone his cell phone and email are attached and he occasionally gets a call or an email about it.

So, does it generate traffic? YES, absolutely. Some tips I will suggest for a Page Ranking are:

- The entire concept of Page Ranking's is to announce something. It could be Anything but just make sure your Page Ranking announces, something.

- Try not to make your Page Ranking sound like an "ad". Don't try to sell anything, just bring it to people's awareness and at the end you could write something like.. "For more information on this cutting-edge technology click on this link"... Get the idea?

- Steer clear of overrating and hype, majority of people will just ignore it and move on.

Did this answer your question at all?

Dario

Like the above posts have mentioned Press Releases do work. I've used them to achieve moderate success.

work2bfree is right on. I use a mantra stolen and slightly modified from the little engine that could.

I KNOW I can, I KNOW I can, I KNOW I can

It really works

I also learned recently that if you are going to do press releases, then it is best to write the press release in third person.

Thank you Dario and bibliophile for the kind works and support. I so often see people getting frustrated with their business not growing and things not working. I understand because I too have days when things are not going as well as expected, but this life.

If you give up, success is never going to happen. To succeed in life you must correct whatever it is you are doing wrong. It makes no sense to continue doing something that is obviously not working. This is part of the learning and growing process. We learn as we build a business and thus become improve upon our skill-sets which in turn helps us to reach a level where we are developing a business easier and with less effort. Just don't give up on your dreams because without our dreams, what is left? Not much in my book.

Since starting this thread a month ago i took on board the comments made here from Work2bfree and starting to change my approach to writing press releases.

By not writing them like ads i have seen an increase in traffic to my website. Writing them in the 3rd person is also a must.

And finally the most important approach.... Be Positive and optimistic. It definately serves you well and not only in writing press releases.
Thanks so much for the tips and advice.
