Default Google and spam links

This is an excerpt from Google…..might be interesting to some…..

Google Webmaster Central Blog

FACT: Comment spammers are often trying to improve their site's organic search ranking by creating dubious inbound links to their site. Google has an understanding of the link graph of the web, and has algorithmic ways of discovering those alterations and tackling them. At best, a link spammer might spend hours doing spammy linkdrops which would count for little or nothing because Google is pretty good at devaluing these types of links. Think of all the more productive things one could do with that time and energy that would provide much more value for one's site in the long run.

Thats the problem though, is that spammers are not spending hours dropping links. They are using automated programs that will go out and do it for them. Mass blog comments, forum posts, etc. It's a the point now where people have it down to a science.

You are probably very right.........

Some years back there were many methods (spelled t-r-i-c-k-s) to increase SE rankings...some worked great....after time passed many of those were labeled "black hat" and if you used them you were thrown under the bus......

These SE companies have big bucks and hire some smart people......I am thinking that time will run out for the slime that pollute the internet....
