Default Craigslist

Has anyone had any luck getting Craigslist ads to stick? I am getting tired of getting flagged. I've heard that are a few tricks to get around them. What have you found to work?

i've tried craigslist, and personally, i think it's a huge scam. i get flagged as well. possibly because i tried to get more promo for a product that was not mine, but was still beneficial. i'm not sure to be honest lol.

Good point,

I thought it was strange seeing so many posts flagged that had worked for months without issue prior to the Craigslist Sex Killing hitting press, and ever since it has become impossible to deal with all the flags, and I lost my account which is impossible to get resolved given no communication at all, similar to trying to get anything resolved with all these companies, eBay, Google, they all suck when it comes to resolving issues.

I no longer bother with Craigslist, and since anyone can initiate a flagged post I have learned, and the fact Craiglist does not manually review any, they just delete post, and unless you change your add completely, it will be on automated flag list, as will your account be on a watch list, and guess what, the next step is your account will be cancelled and you will not be able to log in to even make changes, so BEWARE, it is happening to everyone, expecially those who are promoting any business opportunity ads.

Success to all, Mike

I have recently begun using Craigslist for a couple of months now and luckily I have not had any problems. I make sure that I only place two posts every couple of days or once a week. I don't know if that makes any difference but it's been working for me...

Diane.... can you share where you post? I've been using Craigslist to sell my unused things when cleaning out my closets and been successful. I see alot of promotions for internet businesses like right smack in the "housing" area and wondered how it got there? Would you be able to share some tid bits of your success?

Thank you in advance!

Jeannie

Hi Jeannie,

Well, I can say that I make sure I only post in the appropriate section so that I don't get flagged. For my transcription website advertising, I post it in the small biz section under services; for my free ebook campaign (which is an online business opportunity), I also post in small biz section, and for my ebook store, I post that under books for sale section. I also post ads on backpage.com and USFreedAds.com and have success with those too.

I think those who are posting in the housing section for an internet business opportunity would get banned when Craigslist users/administrators found it there.

Since my ads are just to get people to check out my websites, I don't have any suggestions to share for actually selling goods on Craigslist. I wasn't sure by your post if you were looking for other avenues to sell your actual physical stuff or if you're looking for ways to work from home with an internet business, so I hope some of this helps. Let me know if you're looking for something more specific. By the way, forums such as this one are a great way to gain knowledge about working from home.

Good luck!
Diane

Thank you, Diane! Your explanation was very clear. As you might know, there are some people out there trying to sell "their info on how to use Craigslist for internet marketing purposes" while as you pointed it out, honesty and integrity can be your friend on Craiglist. I just wanted to know if there were other ways, but I definitely like to play it safe. My reputation with Craigslist has been very good and I would like to keep it that way.

Again, thanks for your input!

Jeannie

you must be consistent when you post ad to craiglist. i have tried it, even you have been flageed or other than that, if you keep your consistency to post ad at craiglist, it would make you great result for your business

Craigslist is still alive and well for marketing. Make sure you change the file names on your pics if you load any pics in the post. They will flag it if they start to notice the same file name. Don't post from the same IP address all the time. Change up you IP address with a program like IPrental or Cloakfish. They'll flag your IP if you keep posting from the same one and it won't matter what kind of post you put up at that point.

Post in the correct categories also, but the "general" section usually works out pretty well.

Default Craigslist is dying for marketers & waste of time for most

Agreed,

Most people who have done well marketing on Craigslist over the years have learned as I have, it is done, all over for the average person promoting affiliate deals or MLM in particular. Sure, you can get around getting blocked, but how many are actually succeeding, practically none as I see it, and I research everything. A few years ago it was one of my favorite ways to get up on top of search engines, but those days are long gone for the average person. You run one business opportunity ad and it will get removed, try it again, and you lose your account as I have a until I ran out of phone numbers to use to verify. lol

Bottom line, sure, if you operate in stealth mode, you can still get some ads through, but as I have found, your competition will report your post, and then you are target, so don't even think of running similar ads, they will block you, then cancel your account, don't believe it, try it, run a business opportunity ad and see what happens. Do a search for your business, bet you don't see any Craiglist ads anymore. Go so far as to put in your favorite MLM and Craigslist in Google search and see how many come up. If I did this a year ago there would be hundreds, today, the only ones you see are when people are trying to dump their products from failed attempts at MLM.

The point is, the world of internet markeing is an ever evolving industry, and what was hot yesterday does not mean it will be tomorrow. Over all these years I have seen a dozen marketing trends come and go, and when it comes to internet marketing, it takes a full time effort to stay ahead of the current trends. We all know social media is answer using magnetic attraction marketing through video, so check out YouTube-Zoom for Google would not have purchased YouTube if PPC was still producing the revenues it once did. Changes in strategies are mandated if you even hope to make any money online.

Success to all, Mike
