It seems like everyone got on the web design wagon about 10 years ago and there were web designers everywhere. The bubble has now burst so I wonder whether there really is any room for web designers any more? What do you think?

Not really, no. Sad as i is to say. With all the free templates for CMSs, such as Joomla which can be installed easily through CPanel, and blogs like wordpress, designers are not in very demand.

The all out design work is pretty slim, graphics designers, template coders, and SEO people are what the market can handle now. The one not on that list is content providers, which are in pretty high demand until someone writes a program that can actually create decent content.

All new sites want to look new and different. The kind of sites who use free templates, wouldn't make you a living anyway!

You have to be a good designer nowadays, because so many people have access to the "toys" to make a quick site, but if you are good, you will find plenty of work.

I wish I could find someone who could make websites look good and fresh and different!
