Offering a tech support service could earn you a good some of cash, with little work involved, especially that physical stuff.

You can pick and choose the programs you want to support, and, sell those programs through an affiliate program, plus offer suggested reading material, selling through your affiliate link also. When a program goes out of date you can keep supporting it after the original publisher scratches it from the books. Look how many people used windows 98 after XP came out, and now XP is going to be phased out leaving the people still using it hanging out in the breeze.

You can do both pay programs and open source.

Offer free tutorials, information on product upgrades, and anything else that fits your niche on your site to get people coming, then, when they do need help, you are there to take their money.
