Like many have said it does depend on what you are actually looking for. I was looking to become self employed but didn't have any experience or knowledge really on running a website or marketing it. I did alot of research and even got scammed a couple of times but after some time i came across a company that provided me with a website that i chose myself and full training on how to market it, from then on there has been no looking back on my part! The after care service they provided was fantastic and i still get to talk to them regulary now and i have worked for myself for 8 months!

I don't know if you are still looking for ideas? I have been looking for ways to make money online and am always wary of scams or anything that seems to good to be true.

Personally I have had luck doing freelance writing on the side, so much so, I intend to try it full time in 2009. I wish you luck.

well nearly everyone gets scammed online, it is almost like a initiation rite. The point is that you will have to learn from that experience and make sure that you do not repeat that mistake ever again. That said, there are any number of numerous legit opportunities out there. You will have to search for it, if you are waiting for someone to, say just come along and drop the job in your la[p, well then, you are going to be waiting for a very long time to come.
You will learn only if you do the grunt job by yourself. For starters, you can go to google and type 'freelance job sites'. The result should consist of a list of reputable sites offering freelancing jobs to one and all. So register at that site, learn all that you need to and then start bidding on projects!
