Default Are You Scared of Success?

Today I was on the phone with one of my distributors who was sounded frustrated. She was frustrated because she had a meeting scheduled tonight to meet with her distributors. When she went to her meeting, out of 6-8 of the people she had signed up, only one person showed.

I listened to her talk about her day and as she was talking, she talked about this girl giving out a flier to this one guy sitting at a table by himself working. The girl started talking to him and this young girl invited my distributor over.

They both started to talk to him about the business. My distributor gave him a sample of our product and he really liked it. In fact he liked it so much he invited them to a club to share the product with other individuals.

Who was this guy? He happens to be employed by the Cincinnati Bengals football team. The club is the Cincinnati Bengals club.

Not only that, she has a website where orders are coming through for her products, but she has yet to respond to these customers. Her websites are ranked 2 on google. Things are happening but every time she calls me she is complaining that she is not getting anywhere.

I told her that she is sabotaging herself. She is scared of success. She agreed with me.

I laughed at her and asked her why she was so down and frustrated. She says that she did not know.

Sometimes our emotions impede the way we look at things. It is so true. "Change the way you look at things and the things you look at change."

That is something, I know people who are like this they good well than do something to cause everything to break down all of the work up to the point. It is as if they don't want to be successful as you said. thanks

This is so true. You may want to hand her a copy of Think and Grow Rich. I spend so much time over the years trying to do everything perfect and when I was successful, without realizing it I would self sabotage. Personal development is key. I learned that simply by changing the way I think and choosing to be abundant, amazing things will be attracted into your life. Thoughts are things. You get what you think about. Which is why so many successful people loose. I choose to be abundant.

Thanks Lawren. I love reading your posts.

Hi Everyone,

To continue my original post. Since my long talk with this individual, this lady has become better at connecting with people. I did tell her that she needs to do what she says she is going to do. I am referring to the list of people who had requested that she send them some of her coffee samples. I told her to call those individuals, connect with them and let them know that their coffee is on the way. She told me that she did this.

Next, I told her that she needs to work on overcoming her fears with talking to people on the phone. She does well with the face to face so I was surprised to hear her tell me that she is scared of talking to people on the phone. She worked on this and she told me the other day that she is calling people all of the time with no problem.

She seems to have turned that corner. Since our long conversation on why she is scared of success, she has since gotten 6 people to join her business and now has customers ordering from her on a regular basis. She is now seeing an money coming in, which is good because once someone sees money coming in, it usually motivates them.

So, it just goes to show you that having a business does require one to make changes within themselves. This is hard to do for many, but if you are honest with yourself and recognize what you need to work on, then get started on putting a plan to work on those skills that you are lacking, in time, their will be improvement.

When you invest more into yourself than you do your business, good things start to happen. Working on yourself by engaging in personal development and constantly stepping beyond your comfort zone contribute to inner and outer growth. In time, certain aspects of your business will begin to fall in place and you will soon begin to reap the results. Stop sabotaging your success.
