Five Tips For WeightLoss & Better Health
These tips are from some of my articles on weightloss. Hope it helps.
Five Tips For WeightLoss & Better Health
1. Weight-Loss Is Hard Work:
There are no short cuts to optimal health. Like anything else in life that is worth achieving, better health and weight-loss involve hard work. It means you must be focused and disciplined more often times than not and also ‘work your plan’ for exercises and preparing nourishing meals.
2. Optimal Health Is A Journey And Not A Destination:
Don’t be short-sighted. Begin to look at the big picture and realize that you are involved in a daily walk to enhance your life and make you physically and emotionally better as well. Remember that it is not just about losing weight but also about getting to your best health. Therefore, don’t be in a mad rush to get there and find that you can’t sustain it because you ran past the important principles and steps needed to nurture your body for the rest of your life. It’s better to go at a slow to medium pace, stop and smell the flowers along the way, acquire the learning and discipline and find that not only have you lost the weight but also a lot of the bad habits that came with it as well.
3. Each Person’s Path to Good Health is Different:
We are not all the same so what’s good for the goose may not be just as good for the gander. It means that what works well for your friends may not do the same for you. You must go your own way. Who else knows your lifestyle, eating habits, physical feelings and emotional health better than you? You have to care about yourself enough to not care too much about whae other people at work or at home will think or say about your efforts to lose weight, after all it’s your body, not theirs and nobody is stopping them from trying! Plot your own route to better health with a daily journal of your goals and challenges as well as your successes.
4. Without Right Information You Will Fail:
How do you know the information is good? Because it can be easily tested and proven so. Stay continuously informed and stick to the tried and proven methods that have worked for many over the years. You already know about the value of exercise and you have also heard how vital good nutritious foods like fresh fruits and vegetables are. Even the Bible endorses this fact in the book of Daniel where the Hebrew boys eat a mainly vegetarian diet for about ten days which disproved the false views held in that day about the necessity of meat. By all means, have some meat but do not forget the vegetables. Have you eaten any today?
5. Doctors Are Not gods!
When you go to a medical doctor, you usually have to tell them what is wrong with you unless it’s an obvious injury like a severed limb. Doctors have been well trained to diagnose diseases, perform surgeries and prescribed medicine that they believe will work. This does not mean that they know everything affecting your system or that they can even adequately treat those diseases that they are aware of. Just bear in mind that although doctors are good for society in general, you must take first responsibility for your own health. There are in fact natural treatments for curing illnesses that doctors do not know of or necessarily approve. That’s alright, as long as you know what’s helping you. You can reduce your dependence on these health practitioners by getting right information(as mentioned above). God’s speed on your journey to better health!
