You words are so right on! I have had a very stressful morning doing transcription. I am so thankful for the new opportunities I have found on the net. I am praying that I will one day be able to see the bulk of my income coming from other sources. I would like to keep my hands in the transcription work, though, and part-time would be ideal! I believe it is going to happen. I just need to stay focused and keep building consistently

I woudl definately think that ou would have to prove your experience in order to get decent money. Also more and more peole seem to be working from home and trying to find this sort of work so there is more competition.

You have actually listed out everything you need for medical transcription. If you had indeed have become an expert in medical transcription you could sometimes earn money in it. It is one of the easiest and most convenient home business to start with very less investment, but you should be trained well in this field to do well.

The offshoreing of MT is not something that will affect MT work. In fact it will make the job less stressful for some positions.

Because they are foreigners, we constantly have to recheck their work. And who can do it better but a native English Speaker?

You will also have to self teach yourself medical words, diseases and processes. You will also have to teach yourself how understand foreign accents.

Most people will not use your service unless you have at least 3 years of previous MT experience, or if you are lucky were a Career Step student.

The training is phenomenal.

@workingMom - that's good to hear! Can you share the better job opportunity you've found, if you don't mind? =)

Transcription is an occupation that is ideally suited for homed based employment. Because of recent advances in technology enabling seamless flows of information, the concept of work from home has gained popularity over the past several years.

Transcription from home provides a great means of income for dedicated people with good typing skills and basic knowledge of English language. For medical and legal transcription, you may need to do a training course for better understanding of terms and terminologies for the specific subject. Otherwise, all transcription jobs have one thing in common-the ability to listen to the dictation and interpret it.

Degree in medical transcription is not required to start a business.
you just need a computer, a printer, a transcriber, and some reference books.Computer programs such as a medical spellchecker and a word expander utility to cut down on the amount of actual typing you do.
You can charge your clients by the line,If you charge 13 cents per line and type 200 lines per hour, your hourly rate would end up being about $26.00.
Medical transcription is not for everyone, and it is important before venturing in to any business that you weigh up the pros and cons of it all and do what is best for your situation.
i can not get clear what i can do for this, it sound strange
