Default Quickstar or Quixtar, is it a scam???

Someone tried to recruit a friend of mine to Quickstar or Quixtar (????) and was told that by becoming an IBO, he could make tons of money and live his dream
He called me and asked me about it and I told him he should stay away from it.
Has anybody dealt with them before? Is it a scam?

Do some more research, I thought this was an offshoot of Amway, which is legal. A friend of mine wanted me to become an IBO, but we lost contact before I could talk to him further.

I read the wikipedia page about them and the "Controversies" section of the page was enough to put me off. I told my friend that he should stay away from it.

They are owned by Amway. I had an account with them for several years. I really love their products. I no longer have my account, but I still order products regularly from them.

This is not a scam as I already involve in this company for a few month. So far beside their quality products we also can make money from it. If anybody who interested to become IBO (Independant Business Owner) and also want to grow their business in south east asia can join my group as Im really active IBO.

I did a lot of research about this company and I don't think I still have made up my mind completely about it. If you're interested here is a page with over 100 customer reviews on the quixtar scam

It is not a scam, but it sure takes a lot of work to get going.

UGH ! Quixstar is America's Amway... do you all remember Amway? Its HORRIBLE!!!

Yes, its legal, but its just crud. I've been swindled into both... well, my significant others at the time were swindled and I just sat by and watched the massacre.

Yes, people do make money but like the above post, its a bad idea in this current market. You have to be extremely high pressure sales, blow a lot of smoke up... well, you know, and promise people the world and dreams that most often will not come true. Then, and only then when they work their bum's off to make their dreams come true, do people make money... They basically make their "millions" off of others working their hands to the bone... Its just such a horrible thing to do.

Please, don't waste your money. There are plenty of other things to try that will be much more.... umm, how can I say, fair and worthwhile.

Default Quickstar/Amway isn't a scam

Just to get things straight here (although, with the way the internet information acts as a flood of ignorance, well, this probably won't stop it), with Quixtar = Amway = Quixtar.

Quixstar is simply the Online version of Amway. Same company same concept, its just web based.

Quixtar IS NOT a scam and neither is Amway. Its really JUST LIKE any other type of self employed business, but instead of having an overhead and employees, you really just shop from the (in a sense), your warehouse of goods. But, where it becomes easier to do is by recruiting other's to join up WITH you.

Now theres a big difference between this and a "pyramid" scam. In a pyramid scam, the one's or THE ONE at the top makes all the money (Fuller Brush (sp??) used to be like this,) where as Quickstar/Amway is set up where even someone underneath a, say in their terms a DIRECT, can actually make more money than than a DIAMOND, which is the business ranking of people "at the top." That then wouldn't really be a "pyramid" then would it?

Now, before any of you start calling me a brainwashed or ignorant or whatever you may call me, I'm not promoting Quixtar/Amway, I'm just stating the overall concept behind it. My parents, as was I, was involved in Amway for sometime, but nothing major came from it in the money department. However, because of the group my parents where with, I think that it actually helped their marriage (a whole different story.) There are however, other Quixtar/Amway groups that don't really live up to the overall concept unfortunately. And they're typically the one's that spread the negative.

I not going to go along with the "you better stay away from Amway" bit, or "its a cult" or bladda bladda blah. But, it is completely legal, I mean its really up to you if your going to buy all the tapes or not, or go to all the meetings or this and that. But, really, anything worth it in life takes hard work, especially self-employment. So i guess if Quixtar/Amway is a scam, then i guess so is the American Dream. Which is a pretty sad way to think then, the whole "if its too hard for me, then it must be a scam."
