There are many MLM's out there. You just have to find one right for you, if you are truly interested in joining one.

I was a member of an MLM called Herbalife. It is a good company and many people have become successful. I was not successful, but I attribute this to me not knowing how to run a business.

Not all MLM's are scams. If you do your due diligence and ask a lot of questions directed to those individuals who are involved in these businesses, this should verify whether the MLM is a scam or a legitimate business.

Clarissa, you mention financing a business is a problem. My suggestion is to set a monthly budget for yourself. This way you will have better control of your money situation. I wish someone had told me this.

Also Clarissa, I am in the same situation as you. I still have a full-time job, so my time is short. My suggestion is to do what I am doing. Put together a schedule, which is a list of things you need to do each day. It is not so much the amount of time you put towards your business, but the quality of time. If you are involved in income producing activities everyday for your business, even if it is two hours, which is my situation, you are still contributing time that is of value towards your business. Your business may grow slowly initially, but in time, it will start to grow faster as time goes on.

Thanks, that is what I do for now.

The new system we're using requires us to call people who have already showed an interest to our product which makes things alot easier. What's great is I can put the account on hold until I've reached, quailified/disqualified, or made a sale with a prospect before I'm charged again. Budget, budget budget.

Until my MLM can cover the monthly bills I must work to do so.

Yes, my business also keeps track of people who visit my webpage. I can collect their email address and/or phone number. Once they visit my webpage, they will start to receive emails from our autoresponder until they decide to opt out. I think most businesses have these tools in place to help their members.

Is MLM a viable means of online business or are they generally just a scam?
The only reason, I'm able to "Weed" those hackers, is because I know people personally (for a while face to face) that can link me to legit means of making money.

Googling such a thing, is probably not a wise idea, because majority of what pops up, leads you to scams.

Remember Amway...people thought that was a definate Pyramid Scheme, big time. lol.

You can also do search on articles that expound on the differences.

Cool

As with any product you must examine it to see if its beneficial to you, it it meets your need, and it its of good quality. Its unfair to list all or most MLM businesses as scams. If you research MLM you will see its not a scam at all. Most businesses are MLM type. All it means is multi level. You have CEO the Senior VPs, VPs, Directors, Managers, etc It forms the shape of a triangle. That's all MLM is. Network marketing only means word of mouth. I cant tell you how many products I have bought or used because a frend recommended it. Or how many plays, concerts, movies I've seen because someone recommended it.
Now as far as a business is concerned. If someone says you will make money overnight, then you know you got a red flag. Business takes, time, energy and work. You do nothing, you get nothing.
If someone tells you to come to a meeting with money to pool together and every month someone gets that pool of money then you know its a pyramid! There is no product!

I agree with the above poster says about googling. Alot of what comes up are negative posts from competitors so you still won't get the real info. Put any company name with the word scam and you will be reading all night. Everything is a scam. Even BBB is limited, because all companies have complaints of one sort or the other. Remember complaints are not always legit. There are people who are professional complainers and who always wrte in complaints I met a woman who told me she does it all the time because she often gets cooupns or free products as a result!!

Question

Yeah, sometimes I've googled the MLM Market scam like this:

"Is <whatever MLM> a scam?"

ANd what MLM'ers have been doing is using these VERY words, and of course they title their blogs

"Is my program a scam?" Of course, they'll defend it and say it's a wonderful program. LOL

The Irony of it all, right?
