Default Truth or lie or in between?

When you read an article in the newspaper, do you believe what they say?

Or do you think it is possible that they report news in a manner to help sell more papers?

Maybe just twist it a little to make the story more attractive......

I think almost everything these days is driven by money, so I would say so they can sell more papers. If the writer is good, they can spin almost anything to make it sound like a conspiracy or the greatest thing on the planet. What ever is going to sell better at the time is usually what they do. Unless it's political and then you'll get two different versions on the same story from the different parties.

Just as when I'm watching the news on television, I question the spin on the story because some times I just can't believe that what is being reported is true. For instance, I am often asking myself how someone could be so ______. Fill in the blank: irresponsible, stupid, courageous, bold, twisted, immature, heroic.

With so much written information speeding through cyberspace, once someone reports something as true, if the story happens to go viral, then somehow I think the source forgets how much of a modification the original story had and let's it go. Sizzle sells.
