I prefer hotmail most of the time. The feature are quite unique and simple. The winks and smilies in hotmail are really funny and exciting.

I use msn, yahoo, AOL, and google talk, but among all, I like msn messenger the best, obviously because of all the features, among which winks, backgrounds etc are the prominent ones..

I use yahoo and google talk. I am not much of a MSN fan. I think yahoo is better for i find more appealing and fun to use.

Presently i am using AOL messenger which i have been using since quite a long time now and have switched from ICQ to G-Talk which is quite good easy to use and simple interface.

Yahoo messenger is my number 1 favorite. Its the only one I use. I can't live without it. I even use it on my cell phone. This maybe a sign of an addiction but who cares. I love YAHOOOOOOO!

My opinion is that an instant messenger is there to send messages. Backgrounds, smilies, winks and all the shiny stuff may be a nice add-on to some, but not more than that. I'm online on several services (msn, icq, irc, gtalk, yahoo), but use Pidgin/Trillian instead of all the different clients.

Well I usually use MSN messenger, but for voice conversation I use Gtalk. I think it is the best messenger for voice conversation. I am waiting for the Google team to launch video conference in Gtalk too.

Rarely in use, but Yahoo Messenger when I do. Just in case some of you haven't heard, recently there have been reports of security vulnerabilities in AIM. I wouldn't use it. I'm not naive enough to think that Yahoo Messenger is a fortress either, but I suggest that if using just the chat service, turning others off, and being careful about clicking links from untrusted sources that you're probably reasonable safe with this product.
