Default Sticking Notes on Lamposts

I notice that locally quite a few notices tend to appear stuck on lamp posts and telegraph poles. They are usually either advertsing jobs which claim to make you a second income from home or weight loss. I wonder whether these adverts actually work or whether they are a waste of time. Has anyone tried it?

I wouldn't for anything that is real, most of those that they post are gimmicks that they say have expired, mostly false advertising. Plus, they are an eye sore.

I know some apartments I've lived at have had some different types of adverts up, sometimes around the mailbox area, but I hardly ever looked at them, so I don't know how effective that would be. I would think that a lamppost would be too random to generate any serious traffic to a website. Unless it was in a place that was heavily traveled, you're probably looking at maybe a couple of hundred people, tops, going by that particular spot and I'd estimate that 90% of them would just ignore anything found on them.

I'm sure there are much more effective means of marketing than that.

In reference to advertising on lamp posts or telephone poles or any where advertising can be posted on a positive note it only takes a few people to responded that begins a reverberating effect and the word is out. I have not myself tried this but what a thought!

I agree about the impracticality, in particular. I can't really imagine someone looking at a sticky note, taking it home, and going to the website on the note. Kinda a shot in the dark.
