Well, the best thing I've ever done was introduce a link back page, and a tell a friend feature for my visitors. I believe these two features have helped me the most, and on-site Search Engine Optimization.

I don't think there is any magical formula - It's all about hard work and wise investment. If you do everything in your power to improve your site ranking then you will do well - You can't really "buy" a decent position, though money to purchase high-quality, targeted links does help.

Typically I'll start with on-page optimisation - META tags, heading tags, organise navigation, add a sitemap and so forth. I'll then submit my site to link directories and search engines. If appropriate, I may also utilise article submission and social bookmarking sites as a means of gaining links and bringing in traffic.

If I'm serious about the site, then I will look at link exchanges or even purchasing them if the price is right. Paid directory submissions can also be valuable if you can guarantee a high Page Ranking backlink on a reputable site.

Search Engine Optimization requires a lot of hardwork. Quality and targeted link building as well as on-page optimization play vital roles among others. A great deal of knowledge, patience, experimentation, analysis will get you to the first page of SE results

I've personally found video submission to be fantastic way.

It basically provide backlinks from youtube if u have url in he beginning of your descriptions.

The easy video uploading part:
I also use tubemogul.com to upload and syndicate my videos.
it save me hours of time uploading to different video sites.

The cool video embeding part:
A neat package I use to make the videos showcased on my niche sites unique from others is video skins - got 2 free ones from

videoskintemplates.net

and love the idea so much that I went for the full $39.95 package, which is perfect for my multiple niches.

the videos search ranking stayed in first page for weeks, I've since stop monitoring.

as long as the traffic are still showing, I'm happy.

Getting to the first page of google or any other search engines requires a lot of time and dedication to start with. But if your content is out of the world and unique and your niche is not saturated, you don't have to do anything extra but update it regularly then automatically you will reach the first page!

It is actually a continuous process. it doesn't mean that when your on top you will always be on top. another thing that you should keep in mind that competitors are doing there best to outrank you.

I had never heard of tubemogul. I have also never thought of using video's as a way to market your website. So now I know why all these big businesses and blogs are busy showing us video clips of something they have already written about and I thought I had understood.

I will try do my own video and see what happens. I have gone to tubemogul and can not see if it's a paid service or free.
