I highly recommend HostGator. There is a learning curve involved since on the leaser expensive hosting package your main domain name acts as your main site. I know that sounds confusing but once you start setting up sites you will get it.

You get unlimited sites and bandwidth. So there are no annoying over bandwidth e-mails when you start getting lots of traffic. This is my third and final hosting co I will use. I currently have 24 domain with them. Plus you can call them and talk to a real person.

I am lucky as I have 2 web servers and can host my own, as well as other peoples websites. So my favorite host would have to be myself.

The advantage to this for me is I have full SSH access to the back end of the server so I know which updates are done and which are not, I have full access to the server logs, firewall, and can run/install programs which need SSH access.

As well server loads are low (0.17, 0.22, 0.18) and sites load fast (including a forum I have with over 1100 members and 100,000 posts) and uptime is excellent with the server being up 167 Days, 1 Hours and 15 Minutes since the last major update.

Another advantage for me, as I will/do host other peoples websites, I can host my own sites for free practically.

That's great that you have the technical skills to be able to do all that, but unfortunately I do not, so therefore have to outsource work on the technical aspects of my business (that's the downside) , but other than that there's no dramas! I love working from home. Being able choose my own hrs to work and not being limited to specific location. After 20 years in hospitality slaving away behind a hot stove, It's a refreshing change! I wished i got into it soooner!

Hostgator, Blue-Wire-Hosting, godaddy are all really good. All good customer service too. You can also speak with a live person, which is really important I think. Gets your answers faster than emails or anything, plus you have that personal contact to get your issues resolved.

godaddy is the best, more several options to pay the monthly hosting bills
